We have over 36,000 books in our collection, 50 magazine titles, 4 newspapers, and internet access
to thousands of magazines and journals with full text. Our library serves students from nursery/ kindergarten through seniors
in high school, as well as students of the University of Northern Iowa. We have a wonderful
collection of picture books and nonfiction books. We have an automated circulation/search system, so you can use computers
to search our collection, even from home. Books with a first line call number of PRI or ELE are written mainly for students
up through grade 6. Books marked with GEN are mostly for students in grades 7-12. The status line will tell you whether a
book is in or checked out. Our newest books are normally displayed on the triangular shelving units, or are on top of the
short shelves. We also have professional books, located behind the librarian's desk. Nursery/Kindergarten
through Sixth Grade teachers bring their classes to the library for one half hour each week for lessons on information skills
and library checkout. Middle School and High School teachers can schedule with the librarians for library checkouts and/or
instruction. We look forward to working with you and your students!

Many thanks to Robert Case and the Case family for the beautiful tree that they designed
and built for PLS as Robert's Eagle Scout project. Our students will enjoy it for years to come!
